Welcome to Wisteria Lane Guesthouse, your guesthouse away form home in the green Kalahari of the Northern Cape. This welcome page is intended to help you get acquainted with our homes. You’ll also find everything you need to know about our units. From air conditioning to the extra meals.
Our Philosophy
You want to have a wonderful stay and we want that for you too.
We believe that when you are here, this is your home for however long you are staying and that you will be relaxed, comfortable and happy.
Your Unit
We have sought to equip your unit to a high standard and to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for a luxurious stay. Hair dryers and shower towels are provided as standard and a laundry service is available once every 7 days so you don’t have to worry about luggage restrictions.
Arrival & Departure Information
Arrival
Wi Fi/ Internet details: will be provided by one of our friendly staff upon check in.
This service is provided for your enjoyment, but you are responsible for safe & appropriate use and complying with all laws. If there is any loss of service, please contact us. Please understand, we have no control over line repairs.
Key Instructions
Please collect your set of keys from our friendly staff at the breakfast room when checking in. When checking out, please return the key to one of our friendly staff.
Check- in Time
Check-in time is from 2pm – 7pm. We can sometimes arrange an early or late check-in, so please, contact us if you will arrive a different time and we’ll do our best, without any promises!
Check-out Time
Check-out time is strictly 10am.
Should you require a later check-out it will be best to book for the extra time. If we already have guests arriving that day it will be impossible to offer a late check-out due to the cleaners needing to prepare for those guests.
Parking
Parking is provided on the property, Off-street, behind an electric gate and electric fence at no extra cost.
Cleaning
You will find the unit clean on arrival.
Your unit will be cleaned every day except for Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays. If you need a cleaning service more often, please let us know and we will arrange this. An extra payment will apply.
Towels
Towels will be washed every second day, please hang the towels on rail once showered. If you do require fresh towels, please leave used towels on floor in the bathroom.
Linen
Bed sheets will be washed every second day. If you do require fresh bedding, please arrange with one of our friendly staff.
About The Accommodation
Appliance Instructions / Information
Air Conditioning
Every unit has the benefit of air conditioning. You will find a remote for it in the unit. Please ensure that all windows & outside doors are closed whilst the AC is running to ensure it operate to a maximum efficiency.
The Fridge
You should not need to adjust any settings. If you run into any difficulties (e.g. it’s not cooling efficiently) please let us know.
Microwave Oven
Please do not place any shiny or silver dinnerware into the microwave oven. Please wipe out Microwave oven with cloths provided when done cooking.
Mini Oven Stove
The mini oven stove is electric. Please wipe out oven when done cooking. Not every unit is equipped with mini oven stoves. Please let us know if you require a unit with a mini oven stove.
Our Meals
We have 3 meal rate plans: Bed & breakfast; Dinner, Bed & breakfast; and All inclusive.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included in the bed & breakfast rate.
Breakfast is served at the breakfast room from 6am – 9:30am. Here you are free to dish for yourself and enjoy a hot beverage or juice.
Lunch
Lunch are included with the all inclusive rate.
Our lunchboxes have to be ordered the day before collection. Lunches can be collected at the breakfast room.
Dinner
Dinner is included in the breakfast & dinner and all inclusive rates.
Our dinners are freshly prepared daily & have to be ordered before 1pm every day dinner is required. Dinner will be delivered to your unit between 6pm – 7pm for your enjoyment.
Breakages
We understand that sometimes accidents happen. Should you break anything, please let us know immediately – if it’s minor we usually won’t charge. If it’s a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen) we would like to agree the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later.
Enjoying Your Time Outside
Braai
We are South African, and here we braai! Our garden offers a great braai area close to the pergola with comfortable seating. Wood are supplied at no extra cost. If you need any braai utensils, please let us know & we will supply it for your convenience & enjoyment.
Music
Please keep noise levels to an acceptable level from 6pm – 8am. An acceptable level would mean that the sound does not penetrate the rooms adjacent to you. Please take other guests into consideration in this regard. There are guests that travel long distances to arrive at the guesthouse and would appreciate a restful evening. The same applies to the use of alchol.
